Hi all, we are a community organization that works with people with disabilities. We created this blog to expose a very important topic in society today.
People with disabilities due to injury or illness can experience difficulties in everyday life. Municipalities are obligated to provide people with disabilities with the services they need Such services include, for example, transportation and aide services.
A person cannot be discriminated against on the basis of his or her disability. A person with a disability has the right to live a normal life, e.g. to study, work and start a family.
There are over 7 billion people in the world today. More than 1 billion people, which corresponds to 15% of the world’s population, have some form of disability, and 80% of them live in developing countries.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is commemorated around the world on 3 December each year, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 47/3 of 14 October 1992. Its purpose is to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in all spheres of public life, as well as to draw the attention of the general public to the problems of persons with disabilities.
